An egg bought to make omelette hatched into a emu. Nothing happened for 52 days but after 52 days the egg hatched and an emu came out.

Recycling in China

More than a third of the waste paper and plastic collected by British authorities, supermarkets and businesses for recycling is being sent 8,000 miles to China without any knowledge of the environmental or social costs.
New government suggest that exports to China are running at 200,000 tonnes of plastic rubbish and 500,000 tonnes of paper and cardboard a year - a huge increase on just three years ago.
Much of the plastic sent to China is packaging but Chinese companies are now buying up and exporting thousands of tonnes of unwashed bottles, containers, and other household waste.
China does the global waste trade, importing more than 3 tonnes of waste plastic and 15 tonnes of paper and board a year. But the trade is being driven equally by EU legislation, forcing local authorities and businesses to recycle more than ever. It is cheaper to send the waste abroad. Major companies have moved in, offering to collect and dispose of large quantities.

The World Wildlife Fund says that the coral sea is one of the last marine wilderness areas on Earth. The coral sea is home to many fishes, including reef shark and hammerhead shark.
Some coral seas are not protected so the sharks that lives there are at the risk of being wiped out by over fishing sharks.
In some areas the number of sharks in coral seas are good but in some areas their population have been devastated.

Plagiarism

"Professor Lou Bloomfield designed the program to scan papers for shared phrases of at least six words. When he later checked the papers by hand, Bloomfield found entire term papers that had been lifted from someone else. Tornado Devastation

"President Bush is promising to federal help to three states that had been struck by severe weather this weekend. Powerful series of storms killed at least 20 people in Missouri, Oklahoma. Most people had been left with ruins of their home after the storms passed. Other people is suffering from an cyclone in Myanmar. It is more than a week since the cyclone hit Myanmar. The U.S. military is preparing to drop items to Myanmar in Thailand."

Student 2.0

The first one I read was called "Experiential Learning: The Day of Silence" This one was about an experience that someone found deeply rewarding. Anthony Chivetta had participated in the GLSEN’s Day of Silence. Anthony started participating last minute and on a whim two years ago when Anthony was offered a “Day of Silence Participant” button by a member of Anthony's school’s Gay-Straight Alliance. The stated purpose of the day is to call attention to hate speech and its silencing effects on GLBT students. In this sense, the day is an activist event. For Anthony, this is a noble cause taking the admirable form of self-sacrifice. Even if this was the only reason to participate, Anthony would gladly do so. http://students2oh.org/
